I just caught this on digg, a new software from the MS Labs called Photosynth. It’s a new technology that takes a large collection of photos of a place or an object, analyzes them for similarities, and displays them in a reconstructed three-dimensional space. MS has an online demo you can try (will need IE6 or IE7, but I’ve read people with Firefox being able to use it). For those without IE or are on mac/linux, you can check out this YouTube demonstration. Even if you’re not an MS fan, you have to applaud the innovation here. Very interesting stuff.
